Description

John Holt / Prince Buster All Stars / Prince Buster & The Revolutionaries – The First Time / Uganda is a reggae single pairing two recordings from Prince Buster's camp. On the A-side John Holt, backed by the Prince Buster All Stars, sings "The First Time", a reggae version of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" (written by Ewan MacColl), which became a hit for Roberta Flack in 1972; the label credits R. Flack as writer. The B-side "Uganda" is by Prince Buster & The Revolutionaries. According to the label, the A-side dates from 1972 and the B-side from 1978 (℗ Melodisc Records). This copy is the 1978 Dutch issue on Fleet (cat. no. 15 794).
