Description
Prince Buster – Record Shack Presents The Original Golden Oldies Vol. 2 is a compilation of early Jamaican recordings produced by Prince Buster (Cecil Bustamente Campbell, 1938–2016), released on his own Prince Buster label (cat. no. Alongside his own songs such as “They Got To Come” and “Black Head Chinaman”, it collects tracks by other singers from his studio, including “Oh Carolina” by The Folkes Brothers, Monty Morris, Owen Gray and Derrick Morgan. FAQ
Is this the original pressing?
No. The compilation was first issued in Jamaica on Prince Buster's own label. This copy is a US reissue with the same catalogue number PB 10, mastered at KK Mastering Labs.
Is it all Prince Buster songs?
No. Prince Buster appears mainly as producer here. His own tracks include “They Got To Come” and “Black Head Chinaman”; the rest are sung by other artists from his circle, such as The Folkes Brothers with “Oh Carolina”.
What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light wear; a record may have faint surface noise that hardly affects playback. That applies to both record and sleeve here. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
Do you have more records by Prince Buster?
Yes, for example John Holt / Prince Buster All Stars – The First Time / Uganda (7"). More titles are in our Reggae, Ska & Dub collection.
