FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The original came out in the USA in 1963 on New Jazz, a Prestige subsidiary. This record is a 2015 reissue on the European label DOL.

What makes this session special?
It is the only album released under both Burrell's and Coltrane's names. They play "Why Was I Born?" as a duo, without the rhythm section.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of wear that hardly affect playback or overall appearance. The sleeve is still in its shrink wrap. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Kenny Burrell or John Coltrane records?
Yes, for example Kenny Burrell – Kenny Burrell or John Coltrane – My Favorite Things. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
