Description
Kenny Burrell – Kenny Burrell is guitarist Kenny Burrell's second Blue Note album, released in 1957 as BLP 1543 and later often called "Vol. 2". It combines recordings from several 1956 sessions: a quintet with Tommy Flanagan, Oscar Pettiford and Shadow Wilson (partly with Frank Foster on tenor saxophone), Get Happy with Paul Chambers, Kenny Clarke and Candido on congas, the solo guitar piece But Not For Me, and Kenny Dorham's Mexico City, a live recording from the Café Bohemia in New York. It was produced by Alfred Lion, with recording and mastering by Rudy Van Gelder; the cover drawing is by Andy Warhol. This copy is a Japanese mono reissue.
