Description

Linval Thompson – Follow My Heart is a roots reggae album by Jamaican singer and producer Linval Thompson, released on the UK label Burning Rockers (cat. no. BR 1006 LP), an offshoot of Burning Sounds. Thompson wrote and produced every track himself; in the late 1970s he also produced artists such as Barrington Levy, Wailing Souls and Freddie McGregor. The first edition of 1979 was on black vinyl, followed in 1980 by a red vinyl run. This copy is that 1980 UK red vinyl pressing.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
The first edition came out in the UK in 1979 on Burning Rockers with the same number on black vinyl. This record belongs to the 1980 UK red vinyl run, not to a later reissue.

Who is Linval Thompson?
A Jamaican roots singer whose debut album “Don't Cut Off Your Dreadlocks” came out in 1976. As a producer he worked for Dennis Brown, Barrington Levy, Wailing Souls and Eek-A-Mouse, among others; several well-known Scientist dub albums are built on his productions.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG (Very Good) means the sleeve shows clear wear, here a sticker on the front. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Linval Thompson records?
Yes, for example the 12" Linval Thompson – Give Me Back (What You Take From The Poor) / Fatty Bum Bum. More titles are in our Reggae, Ska & Dub collection.
