Description
Mombasa – Tathagata is an album by Mombasa, the group led by US trombonist Lou Blackburn, on the German label Wind Records (cat. no. WIND 002). It was recorded in January 1980 at Cornet Studio in Cologne as a co-production with Westdeutscher Rundfunk, produced by Lou Blackburn, Manfred Niehaus and Vera Brandes, and released in 1980. The music combines modal jazz with African rhythms and chants, featuring trumpeter Carmell Jones and a large percussion section. This copy is the 1980 German original pressing.
