Description
Oregon – Roots In The Sky is an album by the band Oregon, released in 1979 on Elektra. It was recorded in December 1978 at Long View Farm Studios in North Brookfield, Massachusetts, and in April 1979 at Columbia Recording Studios in New York. The quartet of Ralph Towner, Paul McCandless, Glen Moore and Collin Walcott blends jazz, chamber music, folk and Indian sounds; besides guitars, piano and bass you hear oboe, English horn, sitar and tabla. All four members contributed compositions. This copy is the 1979 German original pressing (Elektra ELK 52 169).

FAQ
Is this the original pressing?
Yes. This is the German Elektra edition from the year of release, 1979, manufactured by WEA Musik.
What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new with at most minimal signs of play. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
What kind of music does Oregon play?
Oregon combine jazz improvisation with elements of chamber music, folk and Indian music. Acoustic instruments such as oboe, classical and 12-string guitar, sitar and tabla are typical of their sound.
Do you have more Oregon records?
Yes, for example Oregon – Crossing and Ecotopia, as well as solo albums by guitarist Ralph Towner such as Solstice. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
