Description
Pat Metheny – 80/81 is a double album by guitarist Pat Metheny on ECM (cat. no. ECM 1180/81). It was recorded on May 26–29, 1980 at Talent Studio in Oslo, produced by Manfred Eicher with Jan Erik Kongshaug engineering, and released the same year. Instead of his Pat Metheny Group, Metheny works here with Charlie Haden, Jack DeJohnette and two tenor saxophonists, Dewey Redman and Michael Brecker; the music runs from folk-tinged acoustic pieces to open playing in the spirit of Ornette Coleman, whose "Turnaround" is covered. This copy is a 1980 German original pressing in a gatefold sleeve.
