Description

Pierre Moerlen's Gong – Downwind is an album by the jazz-rock group led by French drummer and percussionist Pierre Moerlen, released in February 1979 on Arista. It was recorded between June and September 1978 at Matrix Studios in London, with the title track recorded at Througham; Moerlen produced it himself, with Mike Oldfield co-producing the title track. Alongside vibraphone, marimba and synthesizers you hear guests such as Mike Oldfield, Steve Winwood, Mick Taylor and Didier Lockwood. "Jin-Go-Lo-Ba" is a Babatunde Olatunji piece also made famous by Santana as "Jingo". This copy is the 1979 German pressing (cat. no. 1C 064-62 272) with inner sleeve.
