Prince And The Revolution – Purple Rain is Prince's sixth studio album and the soundtrack to the film of the same name, released on June 25, 1984 on Warner Bros. Records. It was mostly recorded between May 1983 and March 1984, among other places at the Record Plant in New York and Sunset Sound in Hollywood; "I Would Die 4 U", "Baby I'm A Star" and "Purple Rain" were recorded live at the First Avenue club in Minneapolis on August 3, 1983. The album spent 24 consecutive weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, and Prince won the Academy Award for the film's score. This copy is the limited 2017 EU picture disc.
