FAQ
Is this the original pressing?
The record dates from the year of release, 1964. It is a Dutch mono pressing on Mercury, catalogue number 125 914 MCL, issued alongside the US, UK and French editions.
What are the manzello and stritch?
The manzello is a variant of the soprano saxophone with a large, forward-facing bell; the stritch is a straight alto saxophone without the curve. Kirk often played them at the same time as his tenor.
What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
VG+ (Very Good Plus) means record and sleeve show light signs of use and the record plays cleanly. There is a tiny sticker on the label and the sleeve shows visible wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.
