FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The album was first released in the US by Mercury in 1963. This copy is a Dutch stereo edition from the Mercury Jazz Series with catalogue number 134 597 MFY; no year is printed.

What are the manzello and stritch?
The manzello is a variant of the soprano saxophone, the stritch a straight alto saxophone. Kirk often played several of these instruments at once.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is close to new, here with a tiny sticker on the label. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light wear. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more Roland Kirk records?
Yes, for example Roland Kirk – Now Please Don't You Cry, Beautiful Edith, Roland Kirk – Kirk In Copenhagen and Rahsaan Roland Kirk – Bright Moments. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
