Description

Wes Montgomery – Full House is a live album by guitarist Wes Montgomery, recorded on June 25, 1962 at the Tsubo club in Berkeley, California, and released the same year on Riverside (produced by Orrin Keepnews). Montgomery plays with tenor saxophonist Johnny Griffin and the then Miles Davis rhythm section of Wynton Kelly, Paul Chambers and Jimmy Cobb. Next to his own tunes such as the title track, "Cariba" and "S.O.S." the set includes Dizzy Gillespie's "Blue 'N' Boogie" and several standards. This copy is the 2020 European DOL reissue from The Blue Collection series on yellow 180 g vinyl; it adds "Born To Be Blue", which was not on the original LP.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The original came out on Riverside in 1962. This record is a 2020 European reissue by DOL on yellow 180 g vinyl.

Why is "Born To Be Blue" on this edition?
The tune comes from the same concert but was not on the original LP. DOL added it as an extra track on side A. Some credits wrongly name Grant Green as composer; it was written by Mel Tormé and Robert Wells.

What does Media NM- / Cover VG+ mean?
NM- (Near Mint minus) means the record is nearly new, with at most minimal signs of handling. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means the sleeve shows light signs of use that barely affect playback or appearance. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Are there more records by Wes Montgomery?
Yes, for example Wes Montgomery – Movin' Wes or Wes Montgomery – The Incredible Jazz Guitar Of Wes Montgomery. More titles are in our Jazz collection.
