Manowar – The Triumph Of Steel is the seventh studio album by US heavy metal band Manowar, released on September 29, 1992 on Atlantic. It was recorded at Haus Wahnfried in New York and produced by Manowar and John Pettigrass. It is the first album with guitarist David Shankle and drummer Kenny Earl “Rhino” Edwards. It opens with the 28-minute suite “Achilles, Agony And Ecstasy In Eight Parts”, based on Homer’s Iliad. This copy is the limited 2024 EU reissue on Listenable Records, a double LP on blue transparent vinyl, new and factory sealed.

Why is the Achilles suite split over two sides?
At around 28 minutes, “Achilles, Agony And Ecstasy In Eight Parts” is too long for one LP side. The Prelude to Part IV are on side A, Parts V to VIII on side B, and the other seven songs follow on the second record.
