Description

Metallica – Kill 'Em All is Metallica's debut album, released on July 25, 1983 on Megaforce Records in the US and through Music for Nations in Europe. It was recorded from May 10 to 27, 1983 at Music America Studios in Rochester, New York, produced by Paul Curcio with Megaforce founder Jon Zazula as executive producer. Four songs were still co-written with Dave Mustaine, who was replaced by Kirk Hammett shortly before the sessions; the album is seen as one of the first thrash metal albums. This copy is a 1989 European reissue on Vertigo with original inner sleeve.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
No. The first edition came out in 1983 on Megaforce and Music for Nations. This copy is a 1989 European reissue on Vertigo, issued after Metallica moved from Music for Nations to Vertigo/Phonogram in Europe.

What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
Both record and sleeve are graded VG+. VG+ (Very Good Plus) means light signs of use that have little or no effect on playback. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Why is Dave Mustaine credited?
Mustaine was Metallica's lead guitarist until April 1983. He co-wrote The Four Horsemen, Jump In The Fire, Phantom Lord and Metal Militia but does not play on the record; he went on to form Megadeth.

Do you have more Metallica records?
Yes, for example Ride The Lightning (EU reissue 1989), Master Of Puppets (EU reissue 1989) or Kill 'Em All as a 2016 reissue. More titles are in our Metal collection.
