The V.S.O.P. Quintet – Live Under The Sky is a live double album by the acoustic quintet led by Herbie Hancock with Freddie Hubbard, Wayne Shorter, Ron Carter and Tony Williams. It was recorded in July 1979 at the "Live Under The Sky" festival at Denen Coliseum in Tokyo, produced by David Rubinson, and first released in Japan in 1979. The group combined the rhythm section of Miles Davis's second quintet with Hubbard on trumpet and plays originals by its members plus a medley of two standards. This copy is the 1980 European CBS edition in a gatefold sleeve with insert.
