Description

The United Jazz+Rock Ensemble – Teamwork is the first studio album by the group that grew out of a Süddeutscher Rundfunk TV band and brought together bandleaders such as Wolfgang Dauner, Albert Mangelsdorff, Ian Carr, Barbara Thompson, Charlie Mariano, Volker Kriegel, Eberhard Weber and Jon Hiseman. It was recorded from 13 to 16 January 1978 at Tonstudio Zuckerfabrik in Stuttgart. True to its title, nearly every member contributes a composition, from Ian Carr's "Gone With The Weed" and Volker Kriegel's "Stumbling Henry's Divorce March" to Mangelsdorff's "Wart G'schwind". This is the German 1978 LP on Mood Records (22999), sold exclusively through Zweitausendeins.

FAQ

Is this the original pressing?
It is the German 1978 LP edition with the original number Mood Records 22999. A 1978 repress used the same number; a later LP reissue carried the number 28 604, and the CD followed in 1988.

Is this a live album?
No. Unlike the debut "Live Im Schützenhaus", "Teamwork" is a studio recording made at Tonstudio Zuckerfabrik in Stuttgart in January 1978.

What does Media VG+ / Cover VG+ mean?
VG+ (Very Good Plus) means record and sleeve show light signs of use but are in good shape. All grades are explained on our Vinyl Grading page.

Do you have more records by the United Jazz+Rock Ensemble?
Yes, for example Live Im Schützenhaus (1977), The Break Even Point (1979) and United Live Opus Sechs (1984). More titles are in our Jazz-Rock collection.
